Eastmark to Spearhead Mesa Growth

Eastmark is the former General Motors Desert Proving Grounds in Mesa purchased by DMB Associates in December 2006 to develop its 3200 acres of land located east of Ellsworth Road and adjacent to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Eastmark will provide desperately needed building lots for new Mesa homes to be built in the high-growth Southeast Valley that includes Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Queen Creek, Arizona. Currently DMB is removing remnants of the GM Proving Grounds, building roads, installing water lines and sewer infrastructure in preparation for as many as 100,000 new homes in Mesa to be built at Eastmark.

The main access connector to Eastmark will be new San Tan 202 On/Off ramps under construction at Hawes Road that will eventually link to the proposed Arizona Highway 24 gateway to northern Pinal County and a brand new air terminal at the northeast corner of the airport grounds as part of the future expansion of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport to have as many as 60 airline passenger gates.

In early 2013 the first 709 residential building lots purchased by seven well known and respected area builders include Maracay, Mattamy, Meritage, Standard Pacific, Taylor Morrison, Trend and Woodside to build new homes for sale in Mesa AZ.

Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is the former Williams Air Force Base serving three airlines – Allegiant Air, Spirit Airlines and beginning November 15thFrontier Airlines, to provide daily scheduled service to 80 destinations in the US and overseas. Adding Spirit and Frontier Airline services in 2012 was made possible by a $30,000,000 terminal expansion to a total of eight (8) airline passenger gates. Since its inception in 1994 the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport has grown into an enterprise projected to have a $251,000,000 economic impact on the region in 2012.

On the grounds of the former base are four universities: ASU Polytechnic Campus, Mesa Community College, Chandler-Gilbert Community College and East Valley Institute of Technology plus several flight schools.

Businesses in nearby Chandler enjoy the convenience of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway airport and have found unique ways to capitalize on its location. Intel Semiconductor maintains three private business jets offering its employees daily non-stop service to their facilities in California, Oregon and New Mexico. Gilbert borders the airport on its western boundary of Power Road and benefits by businesses setting up operations adjacent to the airport.

Metro Phoenix Southeast Valley continues to lead in job growth of high paying jobs and home to top rated schools, beautiful new subdivisions, shopping centers, restaurants, low crime, clean air and high quality of life.
