House Hunting Tips for Car Owners - Commute Costs
When searching for Arizona homes for sale, you may have thought of the wants and needs of everyone in the family plus work, schools, shopping, parks, ya-da, ya-da. But you may have missed something. Don't forget your car.
Click to review one important evaluation point you may have overlooked - your car. If you didn't think of this before you made an offer to purchase your home, you still have time during your home inspection period to do so before you finalize your purchase. Factor in commute costs and wear and tear on your vehicle because of a long commute.
Good to know... During the home inspection period, call your homeowner's insurance agent and make sure you can get affordable house insurance. They check for prior insurance claims and review the age of the roof. A roof older than 20 years may be more expensive to insure or you may have to find another insurance company who will ensure your new home. Then check the cost of car insurance if your commute is going to be much longer. Your insurance company will rate your insurance higher as a result.
